We are seeking an experienced Senior Application Developer with an active TS/SCI clearance to lead the design and development of a high-impact, cloud-native web application supporting NAVSEA submarine maintenance operations. This role is part of a secure, AI-powered transformation effort aimed at digitizing legacy inspection workflows into a scalable, responsive system that supports 50+ concurrent users and processes 1,000+ classified documents daily.
You will work closely with AWS engineering teams and DoD stakeholders to build a full-stack solution using Next.js, AWS serverless technologies, and modern DevSecOps practices. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in secure, compliant system development (NIST SP 800-53, FAR/DFARS), serverless architectures, and enterprise-grade cloud-native applications.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and develop full-stack applications using Next.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and AWS Lambda
Implement secure, role-based access control integrated with Azure Active Directory (Entra ID)
Build scalable document review workflows with real-time status tracking and API integrations
Ensure compliance with federal security standards for handling CUI/U-NNPI data
Integrate with AI/ML services including Textract, Bedrock, and OpenSearch
Develop infrastructure via Terraform, implement CI/CD pipelines, and participate in Agile/Scrum delivery
Required Qualifications
7+ years professional software development experience
5+ years full-stack web application development using modern frameworks (Next.js, React)
Strong experience with AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, CloudFormation
Expertise in RESTful API design, serverless architecture, and secure auth systems (OAuth, JWT)
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, Git, and DevOps best practices
Demonstrated implementation of NIST SP 800-53 or similar federal security frameworks
Experience handling CUI/classified data and complying with FAR/DFARS regulations
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
U.S. citizenship and Active TS/SCI security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Security Specialty, ML Specialty)
Experience with Textract, Bedrock, OpenSearch, and AI/ML integration
Knowledge of vector databases, RAG architectures, and LLM-driven applications
Familiarity with NAVSEA, Bluewater Cloud, or other DoD environments
Prior experience with submarine maintenance or defense industry operations
