Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Systems Engineer II to support a federal client in Suffolk, Va. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining modern cloud and virtualization solutions. The engineer will work on migrating legacy systems to AWS, optimizing Linux-based environments, and ensuring robust containerization strategies using Kubernetes. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills in virtualized environments and collaboration with technical teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement cloud-based architectures and migration strategies to AWS.
- Manage and optimize Linux systems, including scripting and command-line administration.
- Troubleshoot and maintain virtual environments in VMware.
- Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes.
- Integrate systems with dashboards and monitoring tools for real-time visibility.
- Provide technical leadership for architecture design, interface control, and software/hardware integration.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, specifications, and interface control documents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including developers, architects, testers, and operational users.
Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
· 5-8 years experience with Bachelors in related field; 3-6 years experience with Masters in related field; 1-4 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant experience.
· DoD 8570 IAT Level II (e.g., Security+ CE)
· AWS/Azure/GCP experience
· Strong background in systems integration, cloud infrastructure, and zero trust security.
· Hands-on experience with DevSecOps practices, Git (including GitHub and GitLab), and Kubernetes
Compensation:
$49/hr to $52hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
