About the Job
The Finance Systems Analyst plays a critical role in bridging financial planning & analysis with data management and automation. This position is responsible for maintaining and optimizing financial databases, building efficient data pipelines, ensuring data integrity, and delivering actionable insights that support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with technical expertise in data systems and a solid understanding of corporate finance.

This position is based on-site in our Santa Barbara/Goleta, CA office.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Systems Support
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize financial databases, data warehouses, and reporting environments.
  • Manage data integrations between ERP systems, planning platforms, and source systems.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all FP&A datasets.
  • Troubleshoot data issues, identify root causes, and implement long-term solutions.

Reporting & Analysis
  • Support FP&A teams by supplying clean, reliable datasets for budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Build automated dashboards and recurring reports using Excel & visualization tools (e.g., DataRails, think-cell).
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for finance leadership.

Process Improvement & Automation
  • Streamline data workflows and reporting processes to reduce manual effort and improve cycle times.
  • Implement automation solutions where applicable.
  • Partner with shared services department leaders and business teams to drive continuous improvement in data operations.

Governance & Controls
  • Maintain documentation of data structures, transformations, and key financial metrics.
  • Support compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and data governance standards.


Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Business Systems or Financial Planning.
  • Understanding of core FP&A processes (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis) and key financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems or FP&A tools (e.g., NetSuite, DataRails).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Background in accounting, corporate finance, or financial modeling.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
  • Familiarity with Python, R, or other scripting languages.
  • Experience with NetSuite Cloud Accounting or DataRails FP&A Software

Our standard pay ranges are based on the role's function and level, benchmarked against similar growth-stage companies. Compensation may vary based on geographical location, as certain regions may have different cost-of-living factors. The final offer will also be influenced by the candidate's skills, responsibilities, and relevant experience.

Compensation Range

The Compensation Range for this role is $110,000 - $140,000 DOE.
