Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience: 1) conducting work site surveys to identify and evaluate environmental hazards and potential health hazards; 2) performing analysis using standard methods to determine nature and degree of toxic material present in a variety of materials such as environmental samples and industrial products; 3) conducting surveys to evaluate existing potential health hazards and recommending solutions to problems.

Additional information
- Conduct work site surveys to identify and evaluate environmental hazards and potential health hazards.
- Determine compliance with established threshold limit values (TLV), evaluating exposures, and advising on control measures and changes in work procedures or schedules to comply with established environmental and health requirements.
- Perform analysis using standard methods to determine nature and degree of toxic material present in a variety of materials such as environmental samples and industrial products
- Determine measurements to be made and methods to be used, calibrate and adapt various kinds of equipment, such as standard spectrophotometers, air sampling trains, and gas chromatographic apparatus.
- Instruct employees on proper selection, usage, and care of respirators in accordance with all applicable regulations.

- This position requires a Secret security clearance.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time.
- This position requires the employee to use personal protective equipment provided by the employer.
- This position may involve exposure to various unpleasant and potentially hazardous conditions during inspections including noise, toxic chemicals, and heat and cold.
- This position involves moderate physical exertion which includes carrying equipment, climbing, standing, walking, and bending.
- Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
- This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
