About the Role
We are seeking a Programmer Junior to support the Air Force Civil Engineer Squadron at the U.S. Air Force Academy. This role involves managing facility programming and planning functions to ensure mission readiness and compliance with Air Force standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage Facility Asset Management Plan (AMP) and coordinate project authorizations.
• Apply technical knowledge of AFI 32-1032 and AFI 32-1023 for planning and programming maintenance, repair, and construction projects.
• Assist in identifying project requirements and defining scopes to meet mission needs.
• Support development and processing of DOD Form 1391s for FSRM and MILCON projects.
• Prepare rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost estimates using government software.
• Develop justifications, space calculations, site plans, and integrate funding timelines with construction schedules.
• Assist in creating the Base Comprehensive Asset Management Plan (BCAMP).
• Support documentation for Congressional funding approval and pre-acquisition efforts.
• Help generate project lists (BCAMP, MILCON, UMMC, ERCIP, etc.).
• Perform other duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria and Air Force programming requirements.
• Familiarity with AFI standards and programming processes.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• U.S. Citizenship (required by client contract).
• Ability to pass a government background check.
Preferred Qualifications
• Air Force Civil Engineering Squadron programming experience.
• Completion of AFIT courses (WMGT 331, 417, 423; WENG 400 & 500).
• Ability to work on-site at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
