The System Administrator is responsible for securely managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a TS/SCI laboratory environment to ensure mission-critical systems operate in compliance with DoD cybersecurity, STIG, and COMSEC requirements. This role provides day-to-day administration of classified networks, servers, virtualized systems, and supporting infrastructure while coordinating closely with the ISSO and government lab leadership to remediate vulnerabilities and maintain accreditation. The administrator enables reliable testing, development, and operations by ensuring system availability, security posture, and proper handling of classified information within SCIF environments.

CORE FUNCTIONS / JOB DUITES

Ability to perform the following, with some supervision:

Administer RDT&E and stand-alone networks, including Windows Server, Windows 11, RHEL systems, and virtualized environments (Hyper-V).

Manage WSUS, patching, and data exports between classified and stand-alone networks.

Perform ACAS vulnerability scans and STIG compliance, remediate findings, and coordinate with ISSO.

Manage system security tools and services including CDAR, ePO, and agent deployment.

Administer network infrastructure including Cisco switches and virtual machines.

Support JWICS administration, ATA data transfers, and system provisioning.

Oversee lab systems and infrastructure, including VTC, KVM, and COMSEC equipment.

Perform COMSEC Level I duties, including encryptor configuration, key loading, inventory, and accountability.

Maintain system documentation, rack diagrams, and system-of-record updates.

Install, remove, and maintain IT equipment, including cabling and hardware.

Provide technical guidance on IT equipment procurement and overall system design.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Minimum of two (2) years and basic knowledge of:

Managing Windows Server or Linux environments

Networking concepts and virtualization technologies

System monitoring tools

Cloud platforms and hybrid environments

Familiarity with JWICS administration and PKI issuance processes preferred

Experience with DoD cybersecurity tools and environments (e.g., ePO, vulnerability scanning, compliance workflows) a plus

Familiar with SCIF operations and security

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

DoD 8140 Compliance Required

Level II Cyber Security Work Force

OS Certification Preferred

CompTIA Security+ Preferred

ACAS training recommended; may be completed after hire

PAY RANGE

$100,000.00 to $ $125,000.00 annually, DOE

U.S. Citizenship is Required

SECURITY CLEARANCE

Candidates must have an active TS/SCI clearance. Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. Candidates will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score).
