This role provides engineering depth for the design, integration, test, troubleshooting, evaluation, and sustainment of advanced airborne instrumentation used for operational flight test across 5th generation aircraft and other fighter platforms.
You will apply advanced electronics engineering theories and development T&E practices to help ensure instrumentation solutions meet stakeholder requirements, remain compatible with integrated air-vehicles/ground systems/support equipment, and can be executed reliably in a high-tempo test environment.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You’ll support one-of-a-kind airborne instrumentation systems used for flight test and evaluation. Responsibilities include:
• Apply professional electronics engineering concepts, principles, standards, and methods to support instrumentation project development, execution, and technical advisory services.
• Apply development testing and evaluation knowledge to provide technical advice and direction supporting weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
• Plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee development and/or sustainment of electronic systems/devices across integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment.
• Provide expert judgment to resolve unique/novel problems and, where required, create approaches that improve or alter standard practices, processes, or techniques.
• Devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches; assess impacts of emerging technology on current systems and processes.
• Support program planning and execution with working knowledge of planning/program management and standard acquisition regulations/practices/procedures; coordinate across engineering disciplines.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with peers, leadership, maintainers, contractors, academia, and external agencies (oral/written).
