Senior DSP Engineer
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
This organization is a leading R&D innovator supporting the U.S. Defense and Intelligence communities. Their mission centers on developing and deploying advanced digital signal processing (DSP) technologies that directly contribute to national security. Engineers here work on complex, high‑impact challenges in signal processing, geolocation, and next‑generation communication systems—within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment of electrical engineers, mathematicians, and computer scientists.
If you’re energized by solving hard technical problems and seeing your work make a real‑world difference, this team offers that rare combination of autonomy, innovation, and mission impact.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior DSP Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of sophisticated DSP systems across communication, radar, and other advanced signal domains. Your work will span the full engineering lifecycle—from concept through deployment—while contributing technical leadership and hands‑on development.
Key responsibilities include:
• Architecting and implementing DSP algorithms and software-based processing solutions
• Conducting data analysis, hardware control, computational optimization, and RF system modeling
• Performing field testing, error budget analysis, and operational performance assessments
• Developing efficient, production-quality software and validating performance with real-world data
• Supporting systems engineering, integration and test, deployment, and O&M activities
• Proposing enhancements to existing frameworks, tools, and methodologies
• Staying current with emerging DSP technologies and incorporating innovative approaches
• Working independently with minimal direction while mentoring junior engineers
This role offers direct mission feedback and the satisfaction of seeing your solutions deployed in operational environments.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field
• 15+ years of experience in DSP or a closely related engineering discipline
• Deep expertise in DSP theory and proven success developing complex DSP systems
• Experience as a technical lead or principal investigator
• Strong mentoring and technical advisory skills
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python within Linux environments
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
• U.S. citizenship required
Preferred Experience
• Cellular or satellite communications, modern modulation schemes, cyclostationary techniques
• Geolocation, radar signal processing, RF propagation, link budgets, RF system design
• DevOps and cloud technologies (GitLab, CI/CD, CVE mitigation, Docker, Kubernetes, PIP)
• Prior leadership on proposal or capture efforts
• Active TS/SCI clearance
