Software Engineer (Secure Dev / DevSecOps) — What You’ll Do
You’ll help build and ship secure, high-performance software that supports mission-critical DoD programs. This is a hands-on role where you’ll own features end-to-end—from requirements through deployment—while working closely with developers and DevSecOps engineers.
Key Responsibilities
Translate complex requirements into well-designed, secure, and scalable solutions.
Design, develop, test, and document production-ready features with an emphasis on performance and quality.
Contribute to configuration management, modern web/service development, and release engineering.
Partner with DevSecOps to build, automate, and improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
Package and deploy applications using container technologies and repeatable automation scripts.
Communicate clearly across a technical team to troubleshoot issues, improve delivery speed, and maintain a strong security posture.
(Must-Haves)
4+ years contributing on software development teams in a professional environment
4+ years with object-oriented development (Python, Go, C#, or Java)
2+ years using version control (Git-based workflows)
Experience deploying applications with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab)
Experience with containerization (building/running containerized apps)
Experience automating tasks via PowerShell or Bash
Ability to earn DoD 8570 IAT II (Security+) within 30 days of start
(Nice-to-Haves / Stand-Out Skills)
Strong background in Python / Go plus scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
Experience with C#, .NET/.NET Core, Web API, MVC, LINQ
Database experience: PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB
Front-end or visualization frameworks: React, Vue, d3, jQuery
Container orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher
Cloud exposure: AWS and/or Azure
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts or Large Language Models
Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Why This Role Is Attractive (hook you can keep in the posting)
If you want a role where you’re not just coding—but shipping secure software with real impact, working alongside DevSecOps, using modern tooling (CI/CD, containers, cloud), and building systems that have to perform reliably under real-world constraints—this is it.
