The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to provide on-site technical support for the Civil Rights Division in Washington, DC.
The Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice was established by the Civil Rights Act of 1957 and is committed to protecting the civil and constitutional rights of all people in the United States, with particular attention to those most vulnerable. In this role, you will support enterprise-scale environments and play a critical role in the design, deployment, and sustainment of complex network infrastructures supporting large-scale litigation operations.

In this role, you will support enterprise-scale environments and play a critical role in the design, deployment, and sustainment of complex network infrastructures supporting large-scale litigation operations.
Responsibilities:
- Primary Emphasis (Cisco Technologies): Lead the design, implementation, ongoing maintenance, and operational support of enterprise-scale networks leveraging Cisco routers, switches, and firewall platforms to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity.
- Analyze system and network requirements for large, complex litigation support environments.
- Recommend and architect comprehensive hardware, software, and telecommunications solutions aligned with mission objectives.
- Design, integrate, and deploy end-to-end network solutions, including procurement, installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of network and communications equipment.
- Research, design, and implement innovative technical solutions to meet evolving litigation support and operational needs.
- Develop and deliver user training, system configuration documentation, and detailed operational procedures.
- Establish, implement, and enforce system and data security controls, including firewall configurations and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Define and maintain standards, protocols, and best practices for network operations, maintenance, and lifecycle management.
- Monitor network performance and reliability, proactively resolving issues to maintain acceptable uptime across multiple sites.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree (will consider experience in lieu of degree).
- 8 or more years of relevant network engineering experience.
- Demonstrated success analyzing user requirements and delivering comprehensive enterprise network solutions, including environments consisting of approximately 175 servers, 4 physical locations, and 70 network switches.
- Extensive hands-on experience procuring, installing, configuring, and integrating complex network and information systems.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Cisco routing, switching, and firewall technologies
- Network patching and fiber cabling (SC and LC)
- Aruba OS and Aruba wireless solutions
- Aruba AirWave
- VOIP infrastructure
- Network hardware and software platforms
- Zscaler security solutions
- Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Desired:
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards, including Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a.
- Experience managing multi-site campus environments with multi-vendor network infrastructures.
- Familiarity with Extreme Networks switches.
- Experience monitoring and troubleshooting enterprise networks using industry-standard tools to maintain high availability.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Wireshark
- PuTTY
- SolarWinds (NTA, NPM, NCM, Dameware)
- Experience supporting firewall change requests and security rule implementation.
- Familiarity with Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) access requirements and compliance.
