Our client is a global communications organization delivering satellite broadband, secure networking, and advanced connectivity solutions across commercial and government markets. The organization builds and operates multi-orbit satellite networks, supports defense and government communications, and powers aviation, maritime, and enterprise connectivity. It focuses on direct-to-device capabilities and connecting underserved regions, while advancing product-centric offerings and application development.

Due to federal security clearance requirements, applicants must be a United States Citizen with an active Secret clearance. Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. Rate: $65.00 to $75.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
  • Design, document, and test electronics hardware for reliability and performance.
  • Perform electronics packaging and cabling design for modules and assemblies.
  • Conduct thermal analysis down to component junction level and perform structural analysis.
  • Plan and execute qualification testing to verify environmental and performance requirements.
  • Select parts and materials and define interfaces to meet system requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and quality assurance throughout product development.
  • Manage and allocate requirements and ensure compliance with MIL-STD-810 environmental requirements.
  • Create specifications, design documentation, and presentations to communicate design intent.
  • Support up to 10% domestic travel as needed for development and testing.

Experience Requirements:
Experience Requirements
  • 12+ years of mechanical design engineering experience including electronics packaging.
  • Proven experience creating 3D parts and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Experience creating and analyzing thermal models in Ansys, Thermal Desktop, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated capability performing thermal analysis of electronics to the junction level.
  • Experience working within diverse, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage, allocate, and derive requirements with familiarity in MIL-STD-810 environmental requirements.
  • Ability to create specifications and deliver presentations.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship required and ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance.
  • Preferred: Cryptographic electronics packaging experience using SolidWorks.
  • Preferred: Thermal analysis experience for electronic modules.
  • Preferred: Active U.S. Secret Clearance.
