Copperhead Technologies, an operating firm of Command Holdings is seeking a qualified Operational Plan(s) (OPLAN)/Exercise Logistics Planner in support of the United States Air Forces Central (USAFCENT) Headquarters mission at Shaw AFB, SC. This position is responsible for providing direct support to the Air Operations Center - Weapon System (AOC-WS) while adding operational planning, program management and the integration of Special Technical Operations to support USAFCENT's headquarters organizations and activities that are designed to enhance and improve actual mission performance within the dynamic environment of USAFCENT's assigned Area of Responsibility (AOR).

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Support USAFCENT as logistics planner for specific compartmentalized and non-compartmentalized contingency plans and exercise requirements as they pertain to operations within the USCENTCOM area of operations. The Planner will possess a functional understanding of the Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP) and assist in planning, logistics estimates, concepts of support, and coordination with joint service component commands and subordinate headquarters.
  • Provide detailed analysis to integrate those current assets that reside within theater and recommend additional forces as required for OPLAN development.
  • Possess a detailed knowledge of all facets of sustainment and its integration to develop detailed concepts commensurate with presentation at the three and four star level. Additionally, the planner should be able to relate those concepts into detailed executable plans and create Time Phased Force Deployment Data to support mobilization of assets. Demonstrated leadership skills are required; the contractor will lead various workgroups pursuant to OPLAN development and be expected to lead peers and military superiors in analysis and military decision making.
  • Planner will quantify life support requirements and translate these into estimates for submission to engineering planners. The Planner may be required to support numerous simultaneous requirements and ensure that personnel are available to provide adequate representation to the command during times of high operational tempo (OPTEMPO).
  • Plan/coordinate logistics support for OPLANS and exercises affecting the current and long-range operations. The Planner will prepare logistics estimates and other products to provide required logistics supply, service, and other life support for OPLAN development.
  • Attend, participate, and support the planning and execution of conferences and exercises in support of JCS and USCENTCOM Operational planning. Possesses a functional understanding of the JOPES and monitors OPLAN/exercise data requirements necessary to formulate and submit TPFDD information, meeting applicable deadlines.
  • Provide direct support to staff principals, agency chiefs, and external organizations on OPLAN and exercise design activities.
  • Provide direct support to AFCENT Operational and Technical Planners to determine the best possible logistics solutions to support OPLANS to minimize costs and meet required timelines.

This position is contingent on award.

Work Environment:
  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to work in confined areas.

Physical Demands:

Travel:
  • 11-20% / Occasional travel expected: offsites, meetings, training, a conference.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications
  • Current, active Top Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain SCI eligibility.
  • Must be able to pass random counterintelligence scope (CI-scope) polygraph examinations.
  • Five years' experience in a numbered Air Force or component command staff or higher level or other service equivalent.
  • Proven experience with exercise logistics.
  • Experience with JOPES.
  • Must be able to travel to remote overseas locations for extended periods of time.
  • Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Current, active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Proven experience in integrating multi-source intelligence into kinetic/non-kinetic targeting plans.
  • Demonstrated leadership in joint or coalition operational environments, including large-scale planning, crisis response, or combat operations.
  • Familiarity with AOC systems such as LINK16, TBMCS, GCCS, MIDB, JTT, and operational data platforms (e.g., Palantir).
  • Experience with Large Force Exercises (LFE).
