Our client is currently seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with strong GitLab expertise to support and enhance enterprise platforms. This role will focus primarily on GitLab while also maintaining Jira and Confluence.
**This is a direct-hire position.
**This is a cleared position and requires an active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
**This position is fully on-site in NW D.C. near the White House

This job will have the following responsibilities:
- Administer and optimize GitLab, Jira, and Confluence, ensuring reliability, security, and performance.
- Develop and maintain automation for build, deployment, and monitoring.
- Design, implement, and enhance CI/CD pipelines in GitLab with integrated security and compliance.
- Manage infrastructure with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux server administration.
- Conduct gap analysis and recommend platform enhancements to improve efficiency and user adoption.
- Act as a GitLab ambassador, demonstrating value and encouraging platform adoption across stakeholders.
- Provide technical consultation on upgrades, features, and integrations to strengthen platform capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with federal security requirements (e.g., NIST 800-53).
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Security Clearance: Secret
- Must Have Qualifications:
- Active Secret Clearance
- Strong, hands-on GitLab administration and CI/CD experience
- 3+ years with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Proficiency in Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, etc.)
- Skilled in Bash/Shell and Python for automation
- Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s, EKS, Helm)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical value
- Prior federal government experience
Preferred Skills:
- 5+ years supporting enterprise applications or platforms
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience migrating applications from on-premises to cloud environments
- Proven track record of improving or optimizing platforms such as GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins, or Ansible
