The Aircraft Mechanic I is an aircraft electrician/avionics mechanic on the aircraft Modification Work Order team in the passback hangar.

Responsibilities

  • This mechanic will be required to repair and replace aircraft wiring and replace aircraft electrical/avionic components as instructed in technical publications, IETMS, and modification work orders.
  • The mechanic will be required to build and terminate wiring harnesses of varying complexity and lengths.
  • Will build and assemble MWO kits and components.
  • This worker reads schematics, interprets maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to test, validate, and install aircraft modifications.
  • This mechanic must be able to work independently or with a small group with little supervision.
  • Must be able to perform administrative actions when it comes to aircraft forms and records, part ordering, and other actions on information systems being utilized by the customer.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a secret security clearance.
  • Must have own tools/toolbox.
  • 6+ years' experience in Army aviation. SOF aviation experience is desirable.
  • Previous MWO experience is desirable.
  • Experience with ACN or other electronic logbook systems.
  • Experience using multi-meters and other electrical test equipment.
  • Must have or be able to pass Basic solder certification.
  • Must be able to pass solder vision testing.
  • Must be able to pass a basic physical to operate/drive equipment.
