Duties
As a ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN - Title 32, GS-0525-8, you will provide analysis, validation, processing, and correction of financial transactions and issues/discrepancies involving the full range of accounting services. Incumbent uses a complete understanding of inter-related work systems across multiple functional areas and their interoperability to ensure the validity and accuracy of all obligations, disbursements, collections/deposits, and adjustments related to financial records.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS :
Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Experience, education or training which involves the exercise of analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and personal responsibility, and application of a substantial body of knowledge of principles, concepts and practices applicable to one or more fields of administration or management. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : To qualify for the GS-0525-08 level, applicant must have at least 12 months specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Must have experience, education, or training of total accounting procedures. Experience planning, organizing, and coordinating work to resolve problems that occur.

Conditions Of Employment:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- This is a Financial Management Level Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.
Certification Level 1: THIS IS A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT Level 1 Certified position designated as such in accordance with the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, section 1051, amending 10 United States Code, section 1599d. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense requirements of this certification program. This certification requirement is a condition of employment for this position. Failure to obtain this certification within the required time may subject the incumbent to adverse action.
