Mindbank Consulting Group is seeking an experienced System Architect to provide technical leadership across complex, enterprise-scale systems, overseeing solution architecture, integrations, scalability, and security across cloud, COTS, and custom-developed platforms. This is a bid and, therefore, these are anticipated opportunities.

• Where? Falls Church, Virginia, OR Fort Collins, CO, and FULLY ONSITE, 5 DAYS PER WEEK. This is not hybrid; this is not remote; exceptions cannot be made. Mindbank does not provide relocation assistance.
• Who? This is a government contract, and applicants must be either U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents. No exceptions.
• How much? Salaries are based on each applicant’s professional experience and skills. Please feel comfortable speaking about your compensation requirements; I will be transparent with you during our conversation.

This role defines and maintains architectural standards, guides modernization efforts, and ensures solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational and technical objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership across enterprise systems, overseeing solution architecture, integrations, scalability, performance, and security.
• Define, document, and maintain system architecture, reference architectures, and integration patterns across cloud, COTS, and custom solutions.
• Guide modernization and migration of legacy applications into cloud-based and service-oriented architectures.
• Ensure architectural alignment with cloud platforms, data platforms, GIS technologies, and API frameworks.
• Support DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and infrastructure-as-code strategies.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to support vulnerability remediation, POA&M tracking, and compliance requirements (e.g., FedRAMP-aligned environments).
• Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, technical design artifacts, and system documentation.
• Provide architectural guidance to development teams and support technical decision-making throughout the solution lifecycle.

Required Skills & Experience:

• U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident able to pass a U.S. Government Public Trust Background Investigation.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional, hands-on experience in enterprise or solution architecture roles.
• Deep expertise with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), microservices architectures, RESTful APIs, and cloud security principles.
• Experience integrating COTS platforms, custom applications, GIS systems, and data platforms (e.g., data lakes or Lakehouse architectures).
• Strong understanding of system integration, scalability, resiliency, and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Architecture certification such as TOGAF or equivalent.
• Experience supporting large-scale modernization or cloud migration initiatives.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD tooling, and infrastructure automation frameworks.
