The Opportunity:

As a CACI Trauma Medic Instructor you will be located at one of several training sites on the African continent and responsible for supporting Marine Corps Forces Europe and Africa (MARFOREURAF). Y ou will plan, instruct, and deliver operationally focused medical training to partner nation military in austere and deployed environments. You will conduct foundational and advanced medical instruction with an emphasis on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), hands-on practical application, and advanced trauma management aligned with current Joint Trauma System (JTS) and Committee on TCCC guidelines. You will develop and adapt curriculum to meet partner force capability levels, mission sets, and cultural considerations, while ensuring training is sustainable and interoperable with U.S Government. You will deliver classroom and field-based instruction covering topics such as hemorrhage control, airway and breathing management, shock recognition and treatment, trauma pharmacology, prolonged field care concepts, casualty movement and evacuation (CASEVAC/MEDEVAC), and trauma decision-making under stress. Training will emphasize scenario-based learning, live simulations, and skill validation through hands-on lanes, mass-casualty exercises, and combat-relevant medical scenarios. You will assess partner force performance, provide mentorship to Partner Force instructors, and support "train-the-trainer" programs to build long-term medical capacity. You will advise partner force leadership on medical training standards, equipment utilization, and best practices for point-of-injury care, while maintaining compliance with U.S. policy, host-nation requirements, and force protection measures. This role requires adaptability, instructional excellence, and the ability to operate independently or as part of a small team in dynamic, multinational environments.
Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with 333 Project Team Lead, Functional Group Lead, and host-nation leadership to plan and execute Foreign Partner Force (FPF) medical training events.
  • Develop and adapt classroom instruction, academic instruction materials, and practical exercises to support TCCC, advanced trauma, and partner-force-specific medical curricula and Programs of Instruction (POI).
  • Instruct classroom academics, hands-on skills labs, and field-based training in austere and operational environments, emphasizing Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), trauma management, and casualty evacuation.
  • Conduct scenario-based and practical application training, including point-of-injury care, prolonged field care concepts, and trauma decision-making under stress.
  • Maintain records of student performance and attendance and provide comprehensive after-action reviews (AARs) with skills validation in accordance with program requirements.
  • Provide instructional data for inclusion in weekly and monthly reports.
  • Identify potential student, curriculum, and/or exam gaps to 333 Project Team Lead and Functional Group Lead with recommendations to improve future medical training iterations and enhance partner-force medical capability and sustainability.
  • Identify logistics requirements in support of 333 Project Deliverable(s) curriculum and POI.
  • Identify clinical rotation requirements and/or scheduling issues to Lead Instructor.
  • Capture lessons learned and best practices to improve future FPF medical training iterations and enhance partner-force medical capability and sustainability.
  • Official travel to countries in the AFRICOM area of operation for the purposes of mission support is required, as a Part-Time on Call (PTOC) employee.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience as a certified Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) or equivalent advanced prehospital provider.
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience as a Special Operations Forces Medic, Combat Medic, Corpsman, Pararescueman, or equivalent operational medical role; or ten (10) years' experience as an advanced civilian prehospital provider with trauma focus.
  • Demonstrated experience instructing Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) or combat trauma medicine in military, law enforcement, or austere environments.
  • Instructor certification from NAEMT (TCCC/TECC), National Association of EMS Educators (NAEMSE), U.S. Armed Forces instructor course, or equivalent recognized training authority.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (instructor preferred).
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (instructor preferred).


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree.
  • Fifteen (15) years as SOF Medic or Pararescueman, with leadership/management experience at battalion/group or higher headquarters, in the grade of E-8/O-4.
  • Five (5) years' experience as Pararescueman, Special Operations Combat Medic (SOCM), Special Operations Independent Duty Medical Technician (IDMT), or Special Operations Independent Duty Corpsman supporting Special Operations or Guardian Angel Component.
  • Combat and/or Hazardous Zone deployments
  • Four (4) years' experience as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) instructor.
  • Live Tissue Training (LTT) instructor.
  • High Fidelity Manikin instructor/operator.
  • Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) instructor.
  • Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) instructor.
  • Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) instructor.
