Job Summary

B&A is looking for a Senior Exploitation Specialist/Data Scientist to support USSOUTHCOM intelligence operations by exploiting large, complex datasets to generate actionable intelligence insights. This role operates at a senior, independent level and blends intelligence analysis with advanced data science, scripting, and visualization to directly support operational planning and mission execution. The position requires deep intelligence domain expertise, strong analytic tradecraft, and the ability to transform raw data into operationally relevant intelligence products.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct advanced data exploitation and analysis in support of intelligence missions within the USSOUTHCOM AOR.
  • Design, develop, and maintain analytic processes and workflows for large, complex datasets to identify patterns, trends, and operational insights.
  • Apply intelligence tradecraft to ensure analytic rigor, objectivity, and compliance with IC analytic standards.
  • Develop and execute senior-level Python scripts to automate data processing, analysis, and discovery.
  • Create clear, mission-focused data visualizations that integrate seamlessly into daily operational workflows.
  • Translate analytic discoveries into intelligence products that directly support operational planning and decision-making.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs), including structure, operations, and networks.
  • Analyze and contextualize coca cultivation and production areas within the broader regional security environment.
  • Collaborate with intelligence and operational stakeholders while operating independently with minimal oversight.
  • Ensure analytic outputs align with ICD 203 (Analytic Standards) and ICD 206 requirements.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Intelligence Studies, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • Senior-level qualification per the applicable labor category calculator.
  • Significant prior experience supporting intelligence missions, including analytic exploitation and/or applied data science.
  • Demonstrated experience operating independently at a senior level in a mission-focused intelligence environment.
  • Experience supporting or working with NGA, USSOUTHCOM, or DoD intelligence organizations is highly desirable.

Required Skills
  • Senior-level proficiency in Python scripting for data processing, automation, and analytics.
  • Advanced experience working with large, complex datasets to generate analytic discoveries.
  • Strong data visualization skills (e.g., dashboards, charts, geospatial or operational visualizations) that support real-time operations.
  • Intelligence analysis expertise, including structured analytic techniques and analytic writing.
  • Deep understanding of:
  • Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs) in the USSOUTHCOM AOR
  • Coca cultivation and production regions and associated intelligence indicators
  • Ability to operationalize analytic output-framing intelligence in ways that directly support operational planning and execution.
  • Familiarity with ICD 203 and ICD 206 and the ability to apply them to analytic products.
  • Strong communication skills to brief complex analytic findings to intelligence and operational audiences

Security Clearance
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required
