Senior Engineer

Position: Senior Engineer - THAAD International Engineering Support
Position Type: Full-Time Onsite

Waypoint's client is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to provide technical ground and radar site engineering support to the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Engineering Lead. This role supports international missile defense efforts and requires close coordination with government, prime contractors, and foreign partners. The successful candidate will serve as a senior technical authority, providing systems engineering, interoperability analysis, and force design support for a complex missile defense program.

Responsibilities:

• Provide systems and interoperability engineering, analysis, and technical guidance for the THAAD weapon system in support of international partners.
• Support the KSA THAAD Engineering Lead by managing and advising on the technical aspects of assigned force design efforts.
• Collaborate with U.S. Government organizations, international stakeholders, and contractor teams to coordinate technical force design activities.
• Identify technical deficiencies or gaps in planned or ongoing design reviews and develop mitigation strategies and recommended solutions.
• Review, assess, and contribute to technical design documentation, analyses, and engineering products.
• Prepare and deliver clear, concise technical reports and briefings for senior-level government and program leadership.
• Work independently or lead technical teams to analyze, resolve, and communicate complex engineering challenges.

Requirements:

• Master of Science degree in a STEM-related field.
• 12+ years of experience supporting missile defense systems or other large, complex DoD programs/projects.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance.
• Technical experience with missile defense systems and/or radar systems.
• Strong systems engineering background with demonstrated experience executing engineering processes across the program lifecycle.
• Exceptional written, verbal, and briefing skills, including experience presenting to senior management and decision-makers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Familiarity with the Missile Defense Agency, Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), and/or the THAAD Program Office.

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior experience supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs.
• Working knowledge of the THAAD weapon system.
• Experience working in integrated environments with Government, prime contractors, subcontractors, and support contractors.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
• Self-starter with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and international program environment.
• Willingness to support limited travel requirements (less than 25%)
