A mission-focused technology solutions provider supporting government and defense customers is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join a high-visibility program in the Fort Meade area. This role supports complex enterprise environments and requires deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and an active Top Secret clearance.
What You’ll Do
Design, deploy, and support enterprise systems in a classified environment
Administer and maintain Windows and Linux-based server infrastructures
Support virtualization platforms and converged infrastructure solutions
Ensure systems meet DoD security, compliance, and operational requirements
Deploy, configure, and manage monitoring, backup, and logging solutions
Participate in system design reviews and provide technical briefings to stakeholders
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support mission-critical operations
Required Experience & Skills
10+ years of hands-on Systems Engineering experience
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Experience working in DoD or other classified environments
Strong background with enterprise systems technologies such as:
Windows Server environments
Virtualization platforms (VMware, hyperconverged systems)
Active Directory, SAN storage, and backup solutions
Linux server administration
Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity requirements, STIGs, RMF, and enterprise security controls
Experience deploying or supporting log management and monitoring tools
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Certifications & Education
Must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II or IAM-I baseline certification requirements
Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field preferred (experience and certifications may substitute)
Preferred Qualifications
VMware certifications (VCP-level or higher)
Experience with hyperconverged infrastructure and enterprise storage solutions
Familiarity with configuration management, endpoint security tools, and enterprise patching
Exposure to Agile/Scrum environments and collaboration tools
Experience supporting Intelligence Community or large-scale government systems

Ability to start quickly preferred (faster onboarding for candidates with SCI)
