BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Degree: in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.

Experience and skill in applying and adapting standard approaches to gather, analyze, and evaluate information concerning complex processes, operations, or questions typified by conventional relationships.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes experience of NORAD and USNORTHCOM domain awareness, information dominance, and decision superiority of the DOD and Canadian DND regulations, policies, and processes guiding development, validation, and verification of military requirements and technology development of systems. Experience of one or more specialized areas of operation research sufficient to apply new analytical developments, methodologies, and research findings to broad studies of an unprecedented nature.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. - Responsible for leading the efforts in support of the Science and Technology, Research and Development and Innovation (STRDI) Strategy, Organization, Planning and Execution.
- Utilizes scientific inquiry in the independent development and analysis of existing mathematical models and computer programs to support assigned campaigns, projects, studies, or problems.
- Develops informational and engagement papers for Top 5/Senior Leader review in preparation for advanced technological capability presentations.
