Duties
Plan, direct, and control all aspects of the Customer Support programs for both Active Guard Reserve (AGR) and unit reservists. Manage and ensure necessary personnel documents are scanned and emailed or faxed to Air Reserve Personnel Center (ARPC) for update/placement in Personnel Records Display Application (PRDA).
Administer actions in Automated Reserve Orders Writing System-Reserves (AROWS-R). Monitor and take appropriate action to clear military personnel hard-holds.
Serve as advisor to commanders on Human Resources (military) programs. Interpret policy and provide procedural guidance to commanders, supervisors, first sergeants, and staff members regarding customer support programs.
Provide Human Resources management (military) advisory services to commanders and staff on all Customer Support programs. Conduct staff assistance visits and train personnel (ARTs, AGRs, traditional reservists, civilian employees, supervisors, managers, etc.)
Ensure accuracy of Personnel Data System (PDS) and perform functional review of data reliability. Update the system to ensure accurate tracking of pending and completed suspense and follows up when necessary.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level, qualifying pay band or other pay systems in the Federal service which involves the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of Human Resources Specialist (Military). Specialized experience is experience which may have been gained while analyzing and resolving issues related to records programs and entitlements, including retirements and survivors and reviewing new requirements, developing effective solutions, and managing the day-to-day operations of the Customer Support unit.

EDUCATION: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or master's or equivalent graduate degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position if the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify an applicant for that grade level. YOU MUST SUBMIT A COPY OF YOUR TRANSCRIPT. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :
This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements standards. The incumbent's regular assignments are ART duties; however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies (UTA).

Air Reserve Technicians are part of the regular civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil service. In addition, ARTs are required to maintain active membership in an Air Force Reserve unit so long as they occupy Air Reserve Technician positions. As members of reserve units, ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month. In addition, they are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency.
