Overview
Insight Global is seeking a Network Administrator to support a government contract on a military base, focusing on network and system support for Air Force infrastructure. The role emphasizes hands-on network operations, security-conscious administration, and documentation for auditability.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze and simulate network traffic to aid in problem resolution or to validate updated configurations in virtual or physical lab environments.
• Monitor system utilization and circuit bandwidth; identify and report anomalies to Government team leads.
• Escalate complex network issues to Senior Network Administrators and collaborate on resolution plans.
• Develop, execute, modify, or remove scripts to automate repetitive tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Review and document all workload activities per incident or change request to support auditing and ensure governance.
• Neatly bundle and conceal excess system or peripheral cabling after installations or repairs.
• Notify Information Technical Equipment Custodian (ITEC) or Property Custodian (PC), in writing, within 4 hours for all accountable item moves.
Required Qualifications
• Experience: 2–7 years of hands-on network administration, with demonstrated ability to manage and troubleshoot enterprise networks.
• Certifications: CCNA (or higher) and CompTIA Security+.
• Technical Skills:
o Network monitoring, traffic analysis (NetFlow, sFlow), intrusion detection/prevention, firewall management, VPNs, routing/switching.
o Lab/virtualization environments for testing configurations (e.g., virtualization platforms and network emulation).
o Basic scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
• Documentation: Strong documentation practices and adherence to audit requirements.
• Physical/Operational: Comfortable working on a military base, following strict safety and access control procedures; ability to manage cabling neatly and safely.
Desired Qualifications
• Experience with DoD networks, asset management (ITAM), and ITEC/PC processes.
• Experience with traffic analysis tools, IDS/IPS platforms, and lab-based testing of configurations.
