The Raytheon team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer/Scrum Master to support Team Sapphire within the Sea-Based X-Band Radar (XBR) program. Team Sapphire focuses on software development and maintenance for critical components such as failover capabilities, signal processing, and discrimination algorithms. The Scrum Master will help the team deliver high-quality software solutions while fostering an Agile mindset and ensuring adherence to Agile practices.

This role requires a confident, well-spoken leader who can work effectively with the Product Owner and other stakeholders to ensure the team remains focused on delivering value while maintaining alignment with program objectives.

The job location for this opportunity is onsite in Woburn, Massachusetts.

What You Will Do
  • Serve as Scrum Master for Team Sapphire, ensuring the team adheres to Agile principles and best practices.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment that prioritizes communication, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Product Owner (PO) to ensure the backlog is well-maintained, prioritized, and aligned with program objectives.
  • Act as a coach and mentor to the team on Agile frameworks, ensuring team members understand their roles and responsibilities within the Agile process.
  • Help identify and remove impediments that may block the team's progress, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Track and communicate team progress, velocity, and other metrics to stakeholders.
  • Advocate for and maintain team focus on delivering high-quality software solutions for failover capabilities, signal processing, and discrimination algorithms.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to the Product Owner to ensure the team's priorities align with program goals.
  • Promote Agile best practices and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and productivity.


What You Will Learn

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master or Agile team leader in a software development environment.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and support Agile teams in delivering high-quality software.
  • Experience working closely with and provide constructive feedback to Product Owners and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with teams focused on complex software systems, such as failover capabilities, signal processing, or algorithms.

Qualifications We Value

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
