AGS is looking for a Transportation Coordinator to work in El Paso, TX. The Transportation Coordinator (TC) is responsible for the ensuring all transportation services required by the government are provided timely and safely. The TC oversees all staff responsible for the scheduling, dispatching, and fleet maintenance for the contract. Services are provided from multiple locations primarily covering routes within the South Texas area of operations. The TC provides reports and data analysis to improve efficiencies and reduce overall costs associated with transportation. They ensure full compliance with policies and standards and recommend corrective action to superiors when required. Responsibilities
- Plans and schedules work on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and longer basis. Sets and adjusts priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and capabilities of the employees.
- Oversees the fleet management program to include maintenance, safety, inspections, DOT compliance, and ELD requirements.
- Monitors and evaluates employees' work. Establishes or recommends performance standards and evaluations.
- Monitors and evaluates the delivery of services to the client and the methods and techniques used to provide them. Develops and implements plans to improve the delivery of services, individually, with other supervisors, and through process improvement teams.
- Review of reports on work and individual cases, both specific and statistical, manually and through automated systems. Monitors trends and patterns and recommends changes and improvements in operations, methodology or program.
- Planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries
- Allocating and recording resources and movements on the transport planning system
- Communicating effectively with clients and responding to their requirements
- Observe, supervise, instruct and coordinate transportation and stationary guard activities.
- Review and adjust team assignments and match teams to workload.
- Ensure depot supervisor and transportation officers are performing vehicle and equipment checks and meet tasked assignments.
- Provide weekly status reports to Program Manager.
- Coordinate and investigate incident/accidents submitted by Shift Supervisors; submit to Program Manager; follow up with supplemental reports as necessary; assist Program Manager and Department of Homeland Security/Immigrations and Customs Enforcement with investigation as necessary.
- Coordinate transportation of detainees as directed by Department of Homeland Security in a timely manner; ensure all detainees are delivered to proper destinations.
- Ensure all detainee transports are documented and documentation is provided to the transport driver prior to departure.
- Ensure safety related transportation issues are addressed immediately and any vehicle with a safety issue is removed from service until repairs are completed.
- Ensure all required equipment for detention transport is loaded in vehicles or kept in vehicles prior to transport; to include first aid kit, accident investigation kit, proof of insurance, safety flares, restraint equipment, etc.
- Ensure compliance with U. S. Department of Transportation and Texas Department of Transportation regulations for driver physicals annual tests, random drug screens, and driver documentation in accordance with the Transport Manual.
Qualifications
- Possess a bachelor's degree in logistics or a similar field of study. Education requirements may be substituted through progressive experience and at least 3 to 5 years of experience at the management level.
- US citizen or a person lawfully admitted into the United States for permanent residence and have resided in the U.S. for the last five years.
- Pass a criminal background and consumer credit check (no criminal record).
- Obtain and maintain a DHS/ICE government clearance.
- Pass all pre-employment and random drug tests.
- At least 21years of age.
- Skilled in written and oral communication, such as preparation of correspondence, reports, and other documents; the ability to brief or otherwise convey plans, policies and guidelines, and to tactfully and diplomatically resolve problems and convince others to adopt recommendations made.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Speak, read, write, and understand English
- Concisely and accurately prepare and write narratives of incidents and other written reports
- Pass and maintain required medical and physical testing requirements and standards
- Exercises judgment and uses discretion in dealing with first response to any and all situations
- Demonstrate proficiency in methods and techniques of securing and controlling detainees by following required training, policy and procedure
- Maintain a professional personal appearance, calm demeanor, and discretion with confidential information
- Possess a high degree of integrity, accountability and adhere to the DHS ICE National Detention Standards 2025
- Ability to work with a diverse population of people, including people of different cultures, with different values and lifestyles; with a cross-cultural perspective
- Provides supervision to transportation support staff (fleet management and dispatchers).
