Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time, Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Reliability, System Safety, and Supportability.

This job is based in Woburn, MA.

This position is designated as ONSITE.

What You Will Do

As a Principal Specialist, Engineering Services (Training and Technical Manuals Specialist) you'll be assigned to the GLOBUS program and will be responsible for the maintenance of technical manuals, course materials, and training conduct pertaining to the operation and maintenance of the GLOBUS systems and subsystems in accordance with contract requirements. The role also includes administrative support of other GLOBUS Sustainment and Modernization Team members to facilitate innovative and trusted solutions that optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Air & Space Defense System's products and services over their life cycle.

Responsibilities to anticipate:
  • Development and maintenance of operations and maintenance training technical content including presentations and accompanying materials.
  • Assess Engineering data for impacts to existing technical content.
  • Development and maintenance of Technical Manuals, including material addressing: System functional theory, Operations, Preventive and Corrective Maintenance, schematics and illustrated parts breakdowns from compiled technical reports, drawings, and parts lists.
  • Support customer meetings, In-Process Reviews (IPRs), Comment Resolution Matrix (CRM) adjudication, Peer Reviews, and validation requirements for training and technical manual related materials.
  • Generation of monthly metrics in support of program reviews, customer/partner data requests and Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL) submittals.
  • Researching information from technical documentation, engineering personnel, or other technical subject matter experts to design the appropriate learning and documentation solutions.
  • Deliver instructor-led classroom training to stakeholders.
  • Conduct training sessions and assist in evaluating the effectiveness of training activities and materials.
  • Interfacing with the DoD customer and international partner to optimize products and solutions in support of achieving maximum Operational Readiness and compliance to contractual requirements as well as establishing open communications and building trust.
  • The role will require travel (up to 15%).


Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically Requires: A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 4 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years' experience.
  • Experience in Training Delivery and/or Development or Technical Manual Development
  • Experience creating/editing written technical or non-technical documentation in a military or civilian environment.
  • Ability to work independently and analyze technical documentation and training materials.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciples.
  • Ability to follow established guidelines and standards
  • Technical aptitude and self-driven

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Demonstrated strong communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral presentation skills, interpersonal communication and writing skills
  • Self-sufficient, self-starter with proven success taking ownership of training and/or technical manual projects
  • Proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft 365 applications and programs
  • Experience in writing to military specifications
  • Experience with radar and/or sensor systems, or other advanced electronic systems.
  • Master Instructor, or Master Training Specialist Certification
  • Experience with US military/DoD Radar Programs
  • Demonstrated consistency, accountability and flexibility managing multiple and competing priorities.
  • Ability to manage varied tasks, requirements and commitments and interface successfully with numerous disciplines.
  • Experience supporting projects in an Agile environment

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
