Job Title: Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)
Location: Ft. Belvoir, VA - 60% onsite
Clearance: Active TS/SCI CI Poly
Employment Type: Full-Time
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field with 9+ years of ISSE experience; OR Master's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience; OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 13+ years of relevant experience
Salary: 150k to 175k

Overview
Enlighten is seeking a mid-to-senior level Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support system and network designs spanning multiple enclaves, including environments with varying data protection and classification requirements. This role requires strong experience with DoD RMF, distributed architectures, and cloud-based systems supporting big data applications. The ideal candidate is adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a hybrid environment with evolving mission needs.
Key Responsibilities
Create, review, and edit system authorization documentation for completeness and accuracy in accordance with federal and DoD policies
Implement and support DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) system accreditation processes
Assess operational and use-case risks for integrated Open Source, GOTS, and COTS software components
Utilize vulnerability management systems, automated security scanning tools, and system accreditation record systems
Provide security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management support
Recommend system-level solutions to meet security requirements and guide development teams in achieving required security posture
Support the Government in enforcing trusted relationships among external systems and architectures
Apply IA policies, procedures, and workforce frameworks to design, develop, and implement secure networking, computing, and enclave environments
Facilitate information exchanges, gather technical data, and collaborate with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required Skills
9+ years of experience as an ISSE supporting large, multi-tiered DoD or Government programs (experience requirements may vary by education level)
Hands-on experience implementing DoD system accreditation processes (DIACAP acceptable; RMF preferred)
Working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, computer architectures, and network topologies
Experience with DISA STIGs and SRGs, vulnerability management systems, mitigation, and compliance processes
Experience reviewing and analyzing results from automated security scanning tools
Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to operate effectively in a hybrid work environment with schedule flexibility
DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+, SSCP, CCNA-Security, or GSEC required)
Desired Skills
CISSP-ISSEP certification
