The Software Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging application software and systems that implement logical and mathematical solutions. This role involves conducting multidisciplinary research and collaborating with equipment designers and hardware engineers to plan, design, develop, and deploy electronic data processing systems.
The Software Engineer assesses user requirements and analyzes system capabilities to address issues related to program intent, output requirements, data acquisition, programming methods, and system controls. They support the development of maintenance manuals and operating instructions and ensure compliance with established software standards.
Responsibilities include designing and developing compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems, as well as supporting network integration to maximize system performance through diagnostics and issue resolution. The Software Engineer evaluates system performance, recommends improvements to resolve field issues, and plans for long-term system viability while minimizing costs.
Additionally, the Software Engineer codes and tests software for digital products supporting the WANDA mission. They develop software capabilities that enable computer network operations, reverse engineering, and application interfaces, while identifying capability gaps related to analytics systems, data ingestion, processing, and enrichment.
