Oracle Database Administrator / Architect (Multi-Platform, Secure Environments)

If you enjoy owning complex Oracle ecosystems end-to-end and keeping mission systems fast, stable, and locked down, this role puts you at the center of it. You’ll manage Oracle in a distributed, multi-platform environment, drive upgrades and performance tuning, and build resilient backup/restore and storage practices—while ensuring compliance with Cyber Command STIG requirements.

What you’ll do

* Administer Oracle databases and supporting servers across a heterogeneous, distributed environment
* Maintain multiple Oracle Home directories and perform new installs/upgrades/patching as needed to solve issues or deliver new capability
* Automate monitoring and operations using Perl and UNIX shell scripting; maintain internal tooling supporting database architecture implementation
* Own backup, recovery, and archival operations: validate integrity (daily/weekly/archive), run restores, and execute ad-hoc backups when required
* Partner with system admins and leadership on backup configuration, storage planning, disk allocation, and system readiness for database workloads
* Define and enforce file organization, indexing strategies, and database security controls
* Support database design and architecture by understanding schemas/subschemas and identifying limitations or deficiencies early
* Provide DBA documentation and analysis, including comparisons of database systems and support for new database loads/configuration
* Configure physical storage, sizing, versioning, security, and recovery; tune databases for optimal performance and production stability
* Implement enhancements that improve performance, usability, and operator effectiveness
* Ensure Oracle environments align to applicable Cyber Command STIG processes and procedures

Minimum requirements

* 10–16 years of relevant experience and MS/MA in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field
* ITIL v4 Foundation certification /Preferred
* Strong proficiency in Oracle administration, database design, data governance, and data warehousing principles
* Strong analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills with proven team collaboration
* Familiarity with data science tools and methodologies (highly desirable)
