What You'll Do
In this role, you will:
- Apply systems engineering principles throughout the entire systems lifecycle - from concept and development through deployment, sustainment, and retirement.
- Serve as a key technical liaison, engaging with government stakeholders, mission partners, senior leadership, and program personnel to resolve complex technical issues and ensure mission alignment.
- Lead and contribute to one or more process areas defined by ISO/IEC 15288
- Conduct requirements discovery and documentation as part of developing a comprehensive System Architecture Document, including
- Support the assessment of existing requirements, applications, and infrastructure to identify necessary tools, services, and solutions for mission modernization.
- Perform analysis of alternatives (AoA) to inform architectural decisions and recommend scalable, secure, cloud-based solutions that align with mission objectives.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of updated architectures and solutions deployed in AWS or other cloud environments.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma/GED + 14 years of systems engineering experience
- OR Bachelor's degree in a qualified engineering field + 10 years of systems engineering experience
- OR Master's degree in a qualified engineering field + 8 years of systems engineering experience
- OR Ph.D. in a qualified engineering field + 8 years of systems engineering experience
- Demonstrated expertise applying systems engineering practices across the system lifecycle, including requirements definition, architecture design, verification/validation, and transition.
- Proven experience supporting requirements documentation and solution development for evolving mission needs.
- Working knowledge of cloud architectures and system migration planning (AWS preferred).
