Duties
As an ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER, GS-0341-12, and as the full-time representative of the Commander, you will oversee the development of unit goals. Ensure goals are in consonance with higher headquarters direction and local limitations. Oversee the development and execution of long- and short-range plans and programs. Provide a focus for all unit functions and activities. Provide instructions and guidance to staff sections in the conduct of daily activities. Make day-to-day decisions for the commander in the areas of personnel and equipment assignments, instructions to staff members, and replies to requests from higher headquarters or local authorities. Make assignments based on priorities, degree of difficulty, and requirements of the assignment. Manage the full-time personnel program for the organization. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work of subordinates. Advise staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management or headquarters. Train employee(s) in assigned duties and responsibilities. Make work assignments to employees, considers employees capabilities, established performance standards, evaluates work performance, gives advice and counsel to employees, interviews candidates for positions and approves selection, establishes priorities, ensures technical quality of work products, initiates personnel actions, approves leave, resolves employee complaints, and exercises disciplinary control. Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: This position works on a 5/4/9 compressed work schedule that consists of a 5-day workweek, then a 4-day workweek (eight 9-hour days and one 8-hour day and an SDO, Scheduled Day Off) to complete the 80-hour pay period. Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements.
Telework: ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education or training in managing or directing, one or more programs, including appropriate supporting service organizations. Supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work experience and/or training which has provided knowledge of management principles, practices, methods and techniques. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Must have experience, education, or training using quantitative and qualitative techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of administrative and technical programs. Experience developing the mission and work processes of programs throughout the military organization and multi-level agencies. Experience in analytical and investigative techniques.

- KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
