Job Overview
The candidate will provide hardware (HW), software (SW) and firmware (FW) Configuration Management (CM) for the Naval Information Warfare Center's (NIWC) US Coast Guard (USCG) Integrated Product Team (IPT) in support of USCG Command and Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber and Intelligence Service Center (C5ISC) Product Lines (PLs).
Responsibilities
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Create, update, and maintain site-specific configuration records in Configuration Management Professional (CMPro) relational database.
- Draft, edit, execute, and maintain HW/SW/FW CM Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Establish and maintain configuration baselines.
- Establish lines of communication with ISEAs, SSAs, associated systems' PORs' PMWs for insight and tracking on software and hardware changes/releases.
- Participate, as a major stakeholder, in the efforts to implement process HW/SW/FW CM improvements.
- Collect and report HW/SW/FW CM-related metrics derived from planning and performing the HW/SW/FW CM process to support the future use and improvement of the process.
- Collect and report internal HW/SW/FW CM-related health measurements for IPT use.
- Document HW/SW/FW CM-related risks across the IPT and submit them for Risk Review Board adjudication.
- Perform Monthly HW/SW/FW CM review for the IPT.
- Keep up with the schedules in order to track down NIWC CG IPT documentation.
- Monitor CGHelp for NIWC CG IPT documentation and notate changes to HW/SW/FW in As-Builts in CMPro.
- Perform QA of Engineering Changes (ECs).
- Perform QA of the Material Lists in Engineering Drawings.
- Participate in document maintenance actions for the IPT. (Initiate changes to RA/SOVT templates as errors are identified; supply current configuration data).
Accountable For:
- Working knowledge of the NIWC Atlantic Process Framework, including the CM Process.
- Ability to have a general high-level understanding of the C5ISCINST M4130 Configuration and Change Management Policy.
- Ability to document HW/SW/FW Configuration Items (CIs) as NIWC implements and documents changes to system configurations.
- Ability to report risks and issues to the above to the IPT HW/SW CM Lead.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Twelve years of hands-on experience with USCG C4ISR equipment identified in the PWS to include three of the following four areas: Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test & Evaluation, and Training. Recognized expert who has demonstrated industry and public service leadership in C4ISR communication systems.
- Eight years' defense acquisition and/or sustainment CM experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience working in the area of CM
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
Preferred:
- Strong familiarity and recent experience with CMPro.
- Experienced with MS Office Products.
- Have DoD Secret security clearance.
