We are seeking an experienced and technically versatile Cyber Security Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ensure the security, integrity, and compliance of our applications, infrastructure, and development pipelines across both on-premises and cloud development environments. This role requires a strong programming background to build, integrate, and test security controls directly into our systems and tools.
Key Responsibilities
• Security Architecture and Implementation:
o Design and implement security controls across all layers of the application stack, focusing on systems developed using C, C++, .NET, Visual Basic (MS Desktop/Web), Java, Python, and JavaScript.
o Ensure secure configuration and hardening of operating systems (Windows or Unix/Linux), servers, and cloud environments.
• Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) & DevOps:
o Integrate security tools and practices into the DevOps pipeline (SecDevOps) to automate security testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks.
o Assist development teams in identifying and remediating security flaws in code and design patterns.
• Classification and Data Protection:
o Focus on developing secure solutions for classification tools that utilize scripts and web services.
o Ensure all applications, particularly those handling sensitive data within MS Office, email, and Web Application Programming interfaces, adhere to strict data protection policies.
• Vulnerability Management and Testing:
o Utilize Automated Testing Tools for security-specific testing, including dynamic and static application security testing (DAST/SAST).
o Conduct security assessments and penetration testing on applications built with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and those integrated with Lotus Notes.
• Compliance and Operational Security:
o Monitor and audit the security posture of the environment, including cloud resources and traditional systems.
o Implement controls to secure web user interfaces and prevent common web application vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, injection attacks).

Security Tooling and Practices: Strong experience with security engineering principles, vulnerability management, threat modeling, and integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines (DevOps).
Cloud Security: Strong experience with securing cloud development environments, including identity, network, and application security.
Programming for Security: Demonstrated expertise in multiple programming languages relevant to understanding and testing code, including: Lotus Notes, JavaScript, JAVA, C, C++, .NET, HTML, XML, and Python/Java.
Platform Security: Strong experience securing Windows or Unix/Linux systems, as well as solutions related to Office, emails, and web development.
Security Testing: Experience deploying and utilizing Automated Testing Tools specifically for security assurance.
Optional Requirements:
Classification Systems Security: Experience managing, developing, and securing classification marking tools/software.
Operational Environment: Experience securing systems within the sponsor's standard operational environment, including desktops, servers, and peripherals, and managing interfaces with cloud resources.
