Responsibilities
- Design and develop custom code, scripts, modules, macros, libraries, and dynamic link libraries to support advanced geospatial analysis using Python.
- Provide on-demand scripting support in Python and other languages to automate geoprocessing workflows for large datasets. Mentor and assist analysts in creating custom scripts as needed.
- Optimize the use of computing resources to process massive geospatial datasets efficiently. Implement strategies for data deduplication, reduction, and streamlined processing.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geography, or a related technical discipline (equivalent experience may substitute for degree).
- Experience scripting for data analysis, workflow automation, and application development.
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with distributed computing and optimization for large-scale data processing.
- Background in data engineering, including scalable pipeline development, performance tuning, and best practices for data management.
- Proficiency with Git, Jira, and creating clear technical documentation.
- Skilled in modeling geospatial data and working with both NoSQL and relational databases (Elasticsearch and PostgreSQL preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Geospatial and Image Processing tools and techniques.
