The Raytheon Electronic Warfare - Electrical and Electronics Engineering department in Goleta, California has an immediate opening for a Senior Electrical Engineer to work on Electronic Warfare (EW) and electronics product development for defense applications.

What You Will Do:

The candidate will be responsible for design of digital FPGA and microprocessor based mixed signal circuits for Electronic Warfare & Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) products & subsystems. Candidate should also have some familiarity with DC/DC converter and power delivery design and some familiarity with RF circuitry. The candidate will be performing electrical design, electrical design analysis, implementing design solutions, performing simulations, and performing analysis and testing of associated hardware in a laboratory setting.

Candidate may be responsible for multiple designs and projects. Candidate will generate related requirements design documents and testing requirements. He/she will be familiar with the latest technology trends in electronic system design including FPGAs, flash and DDR memories, AtoD and DtoA conversion DC/DC and AC/DC power conversion, and general mixed signal circuit design and analysis. The candidate may work as individual contributor or in a cross-discipline product development team environment with electrical, mechanical, and system engineers.

This position may require occasional business-related travel.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in schematic design, layout support, signal integrity analysis, and testing of FPGA-based digital and mixed signal systems, including power conversion design, or 3 years with a related Master's degree.
  • Experience with electronic system design tools (Mentor XPedition or similar schematic/layout design software, SPICE, Matlab, Hyperlynx SI as examples).
  • Experience with block diagram architecture creation, and parts list creation for complex electronics.
  • Hands-on experience in testing of electronic products using bench power supplies, signal/waveform generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and programming and emulator tools.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start." "U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.


Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience designing FPGA-based circuitry and JTAG programming of FPGA devices.
  • Experience designing airborne electronic products while meeting attendant size, weight, power, reliability, and cost requirements.
  • Electrical design and analysis with Mentor Graphics XPedition and HyperLynx SI, SPICE.
  • Experience with design of CCAs with FPGAs, flash memory, DDR RAM, ADCs, DACs, power conversion integrated circuits, and supporting analog circuits.
  • Experience with RF components or specifications and creating POL supplies for RF circuitry.
  • Ability to handle fast paced and dynamic product development environments.
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills as well as good written/verbal communication skills.

The salary range for this role is 90,000 USD - 182,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
