Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelors, (with preferred Masters) degree in a health or data scientist related field with preferred focus on biostatistics, quantitative or data science.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working as data analyst/epidemiologist, preferably in a government, health-related environment.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience using a data analytics software tool, preferably SAS or R.
- Competence in independently designing and conducting descriptive analyses, nonparametric and parametric testing, and regression analyses is required, with time series analytic experience preferred.
- Experience working with large, medical datasets required, preferably within the MHS environment (e.g., MHS Data Repository (MDR), MHS Mart (M2), HealtheAnalytics, MHS Information Platform (MIP)) .
- Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a Secret level clearance and successfully pass a DHA background investigation.
Responsibilities:
- Perform epidemiology related tasks including intaking, researching, evaluating, organizing, aggregating, and developing data visualizations of health-related data to inform DoD DHA clinical health policy and reduce negative health outcomes.
- Collect data, as well as drafting, coordinating, and editing responses to urgent and non-urgent tasks, such as information requests, data calls, and legislative reviews from members of senior government Committees.
- Provide support in collating and preparing presentations on clinical health issues.
- Prepare and summarize analytic work for professional meetings and scientific conferences.
- Provide support conducting regular and ad hoc analyses of data regarding deployment and garrison clinical health and utilization of clinical services in Service members, family member and other Tricare beneficiaries across the MHS.
- Perform editing, socializing, coordinating, and resolving comments for DoD issuances, Health Affairs policy guidance, Defense Health Agency Procedural Instructions, Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), and other documents pertaining to clinical health, and assessment and surveillance.
