Lion Federal is seeking an experienced Software Developer SME to support mission-critical systems for a federal client. This role focuses on modernizing legacy applications, building cloud-based solutions, and contributing to scalable, secure software in an Agile environment.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, and maintain software applications in cloud environments (AWS)
Modernize and transition legacy applications to cloud-based architectures
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and full-stack applications
Work with Java, Spring Boot, Angular (TypeScript), and Elasticsearch
Build and manage custom ETL processes
Write scripts to deploy and configure applications in EC2 environments
Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile/Scrum methodologies
Perform unit testing, peer code reviews, and automated testing (e.g., Selenium)
Support containerized and virtualized environments
Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
Bachelor’s degree plus 15+ years of experience (additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
Strong experience with:
Java
Spring Boot
Angular (TypeScript)
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Experience developing solutions based on customer requirements and specifications
Hands-on experience with custom ETL development
Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Selenium, and Rundeck
Comfortable working in Linux command-line environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with identity and accessibility development practices
Experience with automation and testing frameworks
Background in containerization and modular development
Familiarity with UI/UX design principles
Full-stack development experience
AWS certification
