ASRC Federal is seeking a Senior Guest Wireless Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities:
  • Remotely operate, manage, sustain, and defend the DHA enterprise GWLAN infrastructure across DHA special purpose data centers, MTFs, remote clinics, and other designated CONUS/OCONUS locations.
  • Serve as a resource for site coordination, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for all users and provide customer service and guidance to MTF and clinic staff.
  • Deploy, configure, operate, maintain, and sustain the integrity, security, and performance of WLAN/GWLAN services at DHA MTFs, clinics, and assigned locations.
  • Detect, report, record, diagnose, and resolve network faults and measure network performance daily in accordance with Major Incident Management Office procedures.
  • Deploy, configure, operate, and sustain wireless services with at least 99% uptime across all assigned DHA facilities.
  • Analyze and remediate wireless incidents, outages, and performance issues to maintain 99% availability of the wireless network.
  • Resolve at least 60% of customer-reported wireless incidents, outages, or performance issues on first contact.
  • Ensure wireless infrastructure and software meet IA configuration requirements 99% of the time.
  • Install patches, software updates, and new versions (as provided by the government) to meet IAVA requirements within 30 days of notification.
  • Monitor wireless performance, network appliance security logs, event logs, access requests, and software license usage to optimize service availability, delivery, and security.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report wireless bandwidth, latency, performance metrics, and license usage, and provide monthly summaries of service availability and performance.
  • Notify the Major Incident Management Office or designated alternate if wireless or guest wireless services are unavailable for more than 10 minutes.
  • Support wireless and guest wireless deployment and sustainment activities by coordinating or executing changes on firewalls, routers, VPNs, and wired/wireless networks.
  • Create all Guest landing pages, receipt pages, and related web pages for Guest Services on Aruba ClearPass or other client access appliances.
  • Complete and maintain all required documentation to support Wireless and Guest Wireless systems.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience (additional years may substitute for degree).
  • 3 years of direct experience supporting large-scale enterprise/global networks in a high-paced, diverse environment.
  • CCNA/CCNA Wireless certification required (or equivalent vendor certification).
  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one (U.S. citizenship required).
  • Strong wireless engineering experience; Aruba experience strongly desired.
  • Experience with automation tools such as SolarWinds or eNMS (MFNA/NCCM) is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of data management, configuration management, and orchestration best practices is a plus.
  • CompTIA Security+ required (or must be obtained within 30 days of employment).
  • Ability to work on-site one duty day per week at Ft. Sam Houston with remote work on remaining duty days (Mon-Fri).

Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with Office products, SolarWinds, Aruba ClearPass, and ServiceNow.
    • Knowledge of and previous experience with RMF processes, system accreditation, and DHA approval workflows.
