The Hardware Engineering team is at the forefront of designing, developing, and producing cutting-edge hardware solutions. Utilizing state-of-the-art tools, processes, technologies, and our CORE operating principles, our expertise spans a wide range of disciplines, including mechanical and electrical engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials science, structural and thermal analysis, testing, and documentation.
Within Hardware Engineering, the Advanced Airframes department is seeking a Mechanical Cross Product Team Lead (CPTL) to design, integrate, and test cutting-edge mechanical hardware. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in effector hardware design, team leadership, and program execution throughout the development lifecycle. Based in Tucson, Arizona, this on-site position may involve occasional travel to collaborate with vendors and support testing efforts.

The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

What You Will Do
- Lead engineering teams to propose, design, develop, integrate, and test mechanical systems.
- Oversee mechanical engineering disciplines through the full product lifecycle, from concept to production.
- Develop and execute plans for subsystem and AUR qualification.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with technical, cost, and schedule parameters.
- Partner with the program leadership to identify and address challenges using program management tools (EVMS, IMP/IMS, Risk and Opportunity Management).
- Directing and reviewing the work of others to deliver production-ready designs on schedule.
- Communicate effectively with Raytheon leadership, customers, and cross-disciplinary teams.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
- At least 10 years of engineering experience or leadership roles.
- Experience in missile-related technologies and/or design lifecycles.
- Active and transferable U.S. government-issued security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Qualifications We Prefer
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar.
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and mechanical drawing practices.
- Experience in airframe development, electronics packaging, and mechanisms.
- Proven ability to coach and lead engineering teams while solving complex mechanical challenges.
