One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

As a SUPERVISORY JOINT SECRETARIAT at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
- Responsible for developing, reinforcing, and communicating a clear vision for Command Workflow across HQ USTRANSCOM, Service Component Commands, and subordinate commands.
- Serves as the Knowledge Management (KM) technical advisor and consultant to the commander.
- Responsible, for establishing, developing, facilitating, implementing, and maintaining the command IM and KM program policies, procedures, and governance using approved business practices and technologies.
- Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities for Directives Management, Records Management, Knowledge Management, and Joint Secretariat employees.
Conditions of employment
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays
- Incumbent may be required to take part in readiness exercises to support command training objectives.

- Knowledge of DoD and Joint Staff Knowledge Management (KM) theories, concepts, processes, best practices, and use of foundational KM technologies.
- Plans, organizes, leads, oversees, and facilitates Command Workflow activities for the Command and communication strategies focused on creating and sustaining understanding and awareness of command priorities, policies, goals, and objectives.
- Identifies KM program requirements ensuring alignment of KM activities to the command's mission, goals, and objectives.
- Plans and schedules work to be accomplished by subordinates, adjusting short-term priorities as needed.
