Responsibilities
- Prepare duplication of books, booklets, brochures, trifolds, cards, posters, and reports, converting graphic publication layouts to meet printing standards.
- Prepare pre-flight files for high-speed copiers and convert files to PDFs.
- Operate print shop equipment, including Xerox Iridesse, Xerox Versant V180P, Kodak Digimaster HD150, Kodak I4600 Color Scanner, HP L570/L360 large format printers, Makeready Scanner, Free Flow Scanner, and Epson 9870/9880 large format printers.
- Prepare technical and non-technical visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts, operating typesetting, printing, and related equipment.
- Apply knowledge of booklet cutting, binding operations, and coil binding using GBC Digicoil Inserter, GBC Magnapunch, and GBC CI-12 Desktop Coil Inserter and crimper.
- Utilize prepress software including Kodak Smartboard, Fiery Command Workstation, Adobe InDesign, PageMaker, and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Publisher, Excel).
- Print posters, retirement boards, and photos on large-format printers
- Provide additional duties, including front desk coverage, engraving, binding, and floating to the DC location.
- Work Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Qualifications
- Active Top Secret security clearance.
- At least 1 year of experience duplicating books, booklets, brochures, trifolds, cards, posters, and reports, including converting graphic publication layouts to meet printing standards and preparing pre-flight files for high-speed copiers.
- Ability to convert files to PDF and duplicate pages using Xerox equipment, including Iridessa.
- Ability to float to the DC location as requested.
- Knowledge of booklet layouts, cutting, and binding operations.
- Familiarity with print shop equipment, including large-format printers (HP L570/L360, Epson 9870/9880) and PageMaker.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Publisher).
- Working knowledge of various paper types used in printing and the ability to select appropriate stock to complete requests.
