We are seeking a software engineer to fulfill the position of Associate Software Integration and Test Engineer in support of the development and sustainment of the U.S. Navy Aegis Weapons System in Moorestown, NJ.

Responsibilities:
  • Work on-site in equipment laboratories and support testing that may occur outside standard business hours.
  • Develop and maintain manual and automated system-level test procedures by analyzing system and software requirements during or prior to development activities.
  • Operate the Aegis system, simulators, peripheral devices, and test tools to perform a wide range of manual and automated system integration tests.
  • Collect, analyze, and document test data and test results.
  • Identify, document, and track system issues, including diagnostic and debug information; verify fixes.
  • Support troubleshooting, isolation, and resolution of complex integration issues.
  • Conduct Integration and Test operations to ensure lab environment readiness and availability.
  • Provide Tier 1 troubleshooting, issue resolution, and testing support to other engineers.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, and integration of software components into the Aegis system and associated equipment suites.
  • Develop and maintain utility programs that support testing and integration tasks.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and manage laboratory resources.
  • Perform additional assignments and duties as required.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a government secret clearance, U.S. Citizenship is required
  • This position requires the successful applicant to obtain and maintain the required security clearance or other authorization(s) within the necessary timeframe required by applicable contract(s)
  • Ability to work on-site in equipment laboratories and support occasional testing outside regular business hours
  • Proven ability to apply academic technical knowledge in software development, software/system testing, test methodologies, computer hardware, networking, and troubleshooting-combined with new technical information
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Ability to understand technical processes and follow established procedures
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and organizational skills
  • Strong collaboration, presentation, and written/oral communication skills
  • Experience with Unix/Linux environments and Microsoft Office tools
  • Academic exposure to analyzing software requirements for implementation or testing, software change management tools, and Agile methodologies
  • Academic experience developing software in Java, C/C++, Python, or comparable languages (Python preferred)
  • 0-2 years of experience:
    • Developing and executing automated or manual system-level, thread-based test procedures from system/software requirements
    • Operating and managing complex real-time control or weapons systems
    • Providing Tier 1 troubleshooting and issue resolution
    • Installing, configuring, and integrating software components into an existing system-of-systems
    • Writing scripts or utility programs to support testing or system integration
    • Documenting test results, defects, and system behavior clearly and accurately

Preferred (but Not required):
  • Python development
  • Experience with Aegis Weapon Systems or other large, real-time, mission-critical control systems
  • CI/CD and DevSecOps tools and methodologies
  • Experience with operating systems such as RedHat, RedHawk, Solaris, PowerMax, HP-RT, HP-UX, VxWorks, or LynxOS
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, ClearQuest, ClearCase, Git, Bitbucket, Jazz, DOORS, and Artifactory
  • AN-UYK-43 computer operation or CMS-2 software development
  • Experience debugging core files with tools such as gdb (C/C++)
  • Certifications such as ISTQB Tester, ISTQB Agile Tester, Cybersecurity, or other software development/engineering credentials
