Waypoint's customer is seeking an exceptionally talented C2BMC Principal Acquisition Analyst to support the Missile Defense Agency's Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) organization. The selected candidate will serve as a senior acquisition professional within a fast-paced, mission-critical environment, providing expert guidance on DoD acquisition policy, contract strategy, documentation development, and program integration in support of the Missile Defense System (MDS).
This role requires a seasoned professional with deep mastery of DoD acquisition processes across cost, schedule, and performance, as well as the ability to engage directly with senior Government leadership and cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
  • Support the development of Missile Defense System (MDS) acquisition policy, plans, processes, procedures, and guidance using comprehensive knowledge of DoD acquisition directives.
  • Develop key acquisition artifacts including Acquisition Plans, Justification & Approvals (J&As), RFP packages, Statements of Work (SOWs), and Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
  • Interpret and apply MDA acquisition guidance to support acquisition planning, program integration, and execution.
  • Lead or support strategic planning activities, acquisition strategy development, and preparation of documentation required for acquisition strategy approval.
  • Prepare and coordinate planning documents to ensure integrated acquisition strategies are aligned across MDS elements and Other Government Agencies (OGAs).
  • Work directly with senior DoD officials (O-6 and above, GS-15/NH-4 equivalents) within an onsite Program Office environment, providing timely, accurate, and high-quality products under fast-paced conditions.
  • Develop senior-level reports, decision papers, briefings, and other acquisition deliverables for leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Translate technical requirements into formal contract requirements, ensuring alignment with program baselines.
  • Research, track, and complete ad hoc tasks associated with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), operating independently or leading cross-functional teams.
  • Support cost, schedule, and performance management activities for DoD or space-based acquisition programs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 20+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 12+ years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and activities supporting evaluation of contract performance against established program baselines.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical requirements into actionable contract documentation.
  • Proven capability to work independently or lead cross-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting cost, schedule, and performance management for space-based or DoD programs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
