The Field Engineer/Technician provides technical expertise for the Point of Entry (POE) system family and supports installation, upgrades, refreshes, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, asset tracking, and other field-based sustainment activities. They assist with testing and evaluating upcoming hardware and software updates in the warehouse lab and test environment, and conduct constructability and maintainability reviews.
Positioned near the warehouse lab/test bed for continuous training, system testing, and deployment preparation, they travel to POE sites around the world as needed. Responsibilities include supporting deployment planning, conducting site surveys—including assessing electrical and HVAC requirements—and executing successful system installations.
The Field Engineer/Technician performs both hardware and software maintenance, system repairs, and infrastructure work involving electrical systems, HVAC, and generators. They conduct Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS), perform inspections, trend and failure analysis, fault isolation, repair, calibration, and system alignment to ensure optimal performance.
They are proficient in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), and predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography and ultrasonics to identify potential failures in advance. All maintenance, installation, and repair work is logged through an approved Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), which tracks readiness and critical system data.
While on site, they provide maintenance and user training in coordination with training personnel and support the help desk by answering questions, troubleshooting issues, and delivering 24/7 problem resolution assistance. They also provide remote technical support to the call center, coordinate on-site work with Host Nation representatives, and perform asset inventories for reporting to asset management teams.
