Proposal Architect: Secure the Future of Advanced Defense Technology
Location: Washington, DC (In-Office) Domain: Strategic Growth / Defense & Aerospace Employment: Full-time
We are seeking a highly skilled Proposal Architect (Proposal Lead) to drive the successful capture of critical U.S. Government programs. You will own the competitive process crafting compliant, technically sound, and compelling narratives that secure funded contracts for our revolutionary engineering advancements. This role is the crucial link between our world-class engineering teams and the Department of Defense (DoD) evaluators.
Key Responsibilities & Impact
Proposal Leadership: Lead the end-to-end development, writing, and editing of all submission types (RFPs, RFIs, BAAs, OTAs, and SBIRs). Translate complex engineering data into clear, persuasive, and evaluation-aligned proposal volumes (Technical, Management, etc.).
Compliance Command: Serve as the internal authority for critical government contracting compliance. Manage and maintain continuous evidence tracking and documentation for DFARS/NIST 800-171/CMMC cybersecurity requirements.
Process Management: Orchestrate formal Color Team Reviews, synthesize feedback, and manage revisions under tight deadlines. Produce strategic capture materials including white papers, concept briefs, and quad charts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Autonomy, Flight Operations, and Test teams to extract, refine, and validate technical details. Coordinate critical regulatory scheduling and submissions with the FAA.
Required Expertise
4+ years of experience authoring and leading technical proposals for U.S. Government customers (DoD, IC).
Deep functional understanding of FAR/DFARS requirements and ability to structure/manage compliance matrices.
Exceptional ability to translate highly complex aerospace, autonomy, or software engineering concepts into clear, concise narrative content.
Strong technical literacy in aerospace systems, unmanned platforms, aviation, autonomy, or defense software.
Experience managing configuration control, scheduling, and document production.
U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a TS/SCI clearance are mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience supporting or leading DFARS/NIST 800-171/CMMC assessments.
Familiarity with FAA regulatory processes or flight operations environments.
Specific proposal experience for advanced aircraft, unmanned systems, or defense software.
Experience building proposal templates, content libraries, and scalable writing processes.
