Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing three out of the six following duties: 1) Hydropower experience, 2) Ability to prepare and present briefings, 3) Maintenance engineering experience, 4) Set scope deadlines, priorities, practices and procedures for maintenance program 5) Experience representing any agency/company in front of stakeholders and other agencies/companies, 6) Experience in the regional power system.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone, no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

- Serves as Chief of Maintenance at Lower Granite Project.
- Responsible for the independent accomplishment of managerial and technical work involving the overall maintenance of Lower Granite Lock and Dam hydropower, fish, navigation, and visitor facilities.
- As a principal assistant to the Operations Manager, participates fully in the planning of future work and projects, including project rehabilitation and research.
- Plans, directs and coordinates through subordinate supervisors and crew foremen the activities of electrical, mechanical, structural, and general maintenance personnel in the performance of maintenance and construction hired labor work.
- Coordinates new, proposed, and current construction activities by other agencies and the Corps.
- Manages a multi-million-dollar, multi-year budget for routine and no-routine maintenance activities across several business lines.
Conditions of employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a state driver's license.
- A one-year supervisory probationary period may be required
- Secret Security Clearance is Required.
- Position requires up to 25% temporary duty (TDY) travel.
