Job Overview

The Audio-Visual Labor Helper assists in the installation, maintenance, and support of audio-visual equipment and systems. This role provides labor support to Audio Visual Technicians by handling physical tasks, moving equipment, and preparing work areas to ensure efficient setup and maintenance of AV/IT technology for meetings, presentations, and events.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
  • Assist in the loading, unloading, and transportation of audio-visual equipment and materials to and from work sites.
  • Prepare and organize work areas by setting up cables, mounts, and protective coverings for AV/IT equipment installation or maintenance.
  • Support Audio Visual Technicians during installation, testing, and repair tasks by providing tools, lifting, and positioning equipment.
  • Clean and maintain AV/IT equipment and storage areas to ensure proper operation and organization.
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures to prevent damage to equipment and injury to personnel.
  • Perform routine tasks such as cable pulling, mounting support, and basic wiring under supervision.
  • Support the disposition of equipment and furniture as required
  • General labor will be required such as painting, wall repair, assembly and disassembly of equipment.

  • We expect this work to be conducted in a timely and professional manner.
  • We expect the employee to keep manager and supervisors apprised of their progress, maintain ability to work well with others, adhere to contract requirements, and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all team members.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks involving lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic knowledge of audio-visual equipment and tools is helpful but not required; on-the-job training is provided.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to support technical staff.

Job Requirements

Mandatory
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a secret clearance within 120 day of hire
  • Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must be able to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to work in various physical conditions, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

Preferred
  • Familiarity with Audio Visual Systems.
  • Extron AV Associate

Working Conditions:
  • Work is typically performed indoors but may involve outdoor sites depending on job requirements.
  • May require working in various environmental conditions depending on the installation or maintenance site.

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, sit, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, or smell.
  • May include lifting weight up to fifty (50) pounds as necessary.
