ASRC Federal is seeing a Project Manager to support an upcoming DHS contract focusing on the Office of Inspector General (OIG) helpdesk operations and essential IT support functions. Ideal candidate must have a PMP certification.
Location: Onsite in Washington, DC
Clearance: Public Trust; US Citizenship to successfully complete a government issued background investigation.
Summary: The Project Manager will be responsible for organizing, directing, and managing multiple complex and inter-related IT projects within the Office of Inspector General (OIG). This role includes overseeing project support personnel and interfacing with senior OIG leadership, including the Chief Information Officer (CIO). The Project Manager will ensure the timely implementation of technical solutions and adherence to project schedules. Additionally, they will meet with OCIO customers and staff to formulate task plans, monitor project progress, maintain technical and financial reports, and guarantee the successful completion of all assigned tasks while collaborating closely with the Contracting Officer (CO), IT support staff, and other stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities
Customer Support:
- Provide technical assistance to end users addressing various hardware/software issues, password resets, printer problems, and other IT-related queries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for trouble tickets, ensuring a thorough resolution and follow-up with users to confirm satisfaction with the support provided.
Helpdesk Operations:
- Manage incoming support requests through various communication channels including phone, email, and potentially in-person.
- Document all interactions and resolutions in the ticket tracking system, ensuring that all user issues are tracked and escalated when necessary.
System Monitoring and Reporting:
- Regularly monitor the performance and availability of IT systems to proactively identify and resolve issues before they affect users.
- Generate and submit performance and operational reports reflecting the number of tickets resolved, the type of issues addressed, and any other key performance indicators.
Collaboration with Technical Teams:
- Work closely with network and infrastructure teams to keep systems up-to-date and troubleshoot more complex technical problems.
- Coordinate with the cybersecurity team to ensure compliance with security protocols throughout all helpdesk activities.
Equipment and Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of IT hardware and software inventory, including updates on equipment status and maintenance.
- Assist in inventory reports and ensure that all devices are accounted for and correctly input into asset management systems.
Training and Development:
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on the latest technologies, practices, and security measures relevant to IT support.
- Provide training to new staff and users on system usage and best practices.
Continuous Improvement:
- Contribute to the development and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for helpdesk activities.
- Identify potential areas for improvement in support processes and suggest innovative solutions to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Project Manager for a Federal Agency/government contractor.
- Bachelor's degree, or higher, in an IT/Technical or business-related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project software.
- Experience providing project briefs to senior executives.
- Experience implementing or working with Agile/Agile-Hybrid methodologies in the public sector.
- US Citizenship to successfully complete a government issued background investigation.
