Duties
Help
  • The incumbent serves as a Shift Supervisor for the Law Enforcement force assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.
  • Supervisory Police Officers are responsible for responses to and investigates emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service.
  • Conducts traffic law enforcement patrol using specialized equipment such as radar, Lidar and breathalyzer.
  • Operates motor vehicle which may involve high speed pursuit of suspects. Conducts investigative stops, questions, detains, and issues traffic citations as required.
  • Investigations/Surveillance: Performs protection duties to deter, detect, and deny unauthorized access at fixed installation, internal compound, and incident perimeter posts.
  • Protects personnel, material, tactical military assets, and high value assets by executing daily RAM and supplemental anti-terrorism measures during increased force protection conditions.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment
  • This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • Federal law requires the removal of federal law enforcement officers convicted of felonies.
  • The incumbent is subject to possible civil and criminal action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
  • Incumbent must meet the requirements of AR 190-56:
  • Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training, certification, and qualification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy, regulations, or statutes
  • Successfully graduated from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver/exception from the Office of the Provost Marshal General, IAW AR 190-56.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: maintaining order and protecting life and property, using federal, state, or local law enforcement regulations to conduct police desk operations such as maintaining police blotters and journals, review of police reports, and management of police officer personnel.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualifications requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
