Software Delivery Quality Assurance Lead

FTS has an opportunity for a Software Delivery Quality Assurance Lead in Chantilly, VA.

The Software Delivery Quality Assurance Lead provides Systems Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) support to a government program office responsible for delivering space and ground systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice in supporting technical evaluations and analysis of the development and delivery of a revolutionary new software system to meet customer requirements in an agile environment
• Advise the government in architecting software solutions to meet stringent requirements
• Ensure quality, compliance, and architectural integrity of quarterly software deliveries, with a particular emphasis on hybrid cloud implementation and integration
• Perform in-depth analysis of quarterly software deliveries to validate quality, functionality, and adherence to specifications
• Evaluate delivered code against established quality metrics, coding standards, and performance requirements
• Compare software deliveries against the customer developed Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) model
• Verify implementation of open architecture principles and ensure compliance with architectural guidelines
• Analyze hybrid cloud architecture implementation, including integration and on-premises and cloud environments
• Lead incremental assessment testing and provide detailed evaluation reports
• Evaluate vendor-developed automated test cases for coverage, effectiveness, and alignment with requirements
• Analyze test automation frameworks and methodologies, provide recommendations for integration with other programs
• Assess test results and metrics to determine software quality and readiness for acceptance
• Maintain subject matter expertise on the newest trends, best practices, and advancements in the software development field

Required Skills/Qualifications

• TS/SCI with polygraph
• BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related degree
• 10+ years' relevant experience
• Demonstrated understanding and experience in software development methodologies
• Experience with code review processes and quality assessment techniques
• Working knowledge of open architecture principles and implementation approaches
• Knowledge of API, microservices architecture, and distributed systems
• Strong ability to articulate software architecture and development concepts/solutions, design trade-offs, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with decision makers at a senior or executive level

Desired Skills/Qualifications

• MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related degree
• 5+ years' experience in a SETA role consulting to the Intelligence Community or DoD
• Experience in architecting, developing and optimizing software code for high availability, fault tolerance, and performance
• Experience with cloud deployment models, containerization, and orchestration technologies
• Experience using Model Based Systems Engineering tools
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Program Increment planning, sprints, backlog grooming, etc.) and collaboration tools (Confluence, Jira, etc.)
